Website domain registrar and hosting service – best value?

GET HOSTING FOR 1 Cent! USE CODE: JURY

I would like to create a new website. I already have two websites for which I pay $35 per year base price (I reduce this by buying several years at a time) for the domain name and $9.99 per month for a business account website. I am satisfied with both in terms of the level of service I receive, but I wonder whether there are lower cost alternatives available that would also provide very good service. Can you suggest registrars and hosting services that are high quality but less expensive?

Thank you.

the lower you go, the worse performance you will get. Try not to penny pinch when it comes to your website. Web marketing is very powerful, so you need to utilize it to the fullest.

I worked on the discounttires website in my previous company, and they spend 20k a month for advertising. So you have to guess how much they actually make to be able to spend that much. probably in the millions.

don’t penny pinch, it’s not worth it.

Boy, I thought the 35-a-year domain registrars went the way of the dodo a long time ago. That’s the price it was back at the beginning, when you bought directly from ICANN at 70 bucks for two years.

There’s way cheaper alternatives. For the past 10+ years, I’ve been using GoDaddy to buy my domain names and have had zero issues with them. They offer a bunch of additional services; just say no to each while going through the checkout. Their price is 9.99 a year (6.99 for transferred domains, for the first year): https://www.godaddy.com/

They also offer hosting, for 4.25 to 6.99 a month (depending on how long you pay for, as well as how much space/bandwidth you need). If you need a lot of space, get their unlimited plan for 12.74 to 14.99 a month.

If you have a lot of domains, you should probably get a reseller account or one with unlimited domains allowed (where you get space and can add as many as will fit). I use dathorn.com for that.

I suggest you have a look at http://www.hosting24.com they will register a domain name for free for life and come with unlimited webspace and unlimited data transfer and you can go with them on a monthly basis.

Also when you sign up with them if you enter in a discount code they will give you 25% off their ridiculously cheap hosting plans. code to use is 25OFF

I host all my sites there and have been more than pleased with their help and support which is available by phone support! I hope this helps

I recommend one of these: http://www.hosttell.com/

Powweb is on a 50% sale – $3.88/month ($46.56/year), and you get a free domain from them.

Godaddy doesn’t offer a free domain, but you can get one for $2.19 if you’re buying hosting from them, plus they also have a 20% sale at the moment. (They don’t advertise it anywhere on their site). Use their coupon code at http://www.hosttell.com/
